Pet Peeves

Don't get me started. I know very well my pet peeves--they've become quite obvious to me since being a BYC moderator.

I read this an was trying to figure out what dropping food on the floor had to do with driving... Then it hit me... 3 second rule not 5 second rule...

My Pet Peeve is people with pet Peeves. People stressing over the small stuff.

If I start the day above ground an the day ends with me above ground I'm good. I've seen a lot of people die over the years an any day I lived threw is a good day. Any day I didn't have to put someone else in a bag is a Great Day.

As I have gotten older, the more true this is. There is getting to be in me an acceptance that people are not perfect, I am not perfect, and stuff happens. It has been difficult to absorb the bad stuff and not vent it out, but then I have grown ( I hope) To just say,"oh well" and leave the garbage for the people spewing it.

Maybe I am just tired, and old, but it just doesn't feel like life is long enough to carry irritations with me anymore.
I am fortunate not to have to deal with death and disaster like rebelcowboy has to, but the realization that any day can be our last day...well, I don't want he last thing I said to my family be some ridiculous irritation about their inability to properly stack the dishwasher. I just redo it and be glad they are alive and with me.

I should say my pet peeves are just that. I am opinionated just ask my wife. I rarely ever act on them (except maybe on a chicken chat forum) otherwise I nod or wave.

Being from the south, my biggest pet peeve is when children do not address their parents/elders using the term "Ma'am" or "Sir". I can't stand to hear a parent call their child and the child replies by saying, "What" or "Huh". I could bite my tongue when I hear that.

But then again, that's from being raised in the south and my father was in the military.

That's because some states are stupid enough to allow that kind of crap to still be legal.

Ever visit another state and kinda discover that they're about 40 years behind the rest of the country socially? I'm not going to mention the state, but there is on state I can think of off the top of my head where I almost went insane during my last visit there 2 years ago because they are stuck in the 50s.
