pets?

Yep, mine are pets too. Love that they give me eggs, but love them for themselves even more! I have two silkie hens and a banty roo, and they are inseperable!

I have 4, 2 EEs, one RIR and one RSL, and yes they are pets. They beg worse than the cats, follow us around, sit on laps and provide more laughs that I thought possible. I think they are easier than a dog.

Mine are pets......with the extra bonus of eggs.
I am trying a new mac and cheese recipe and my fresh eggs will be a nice extra-special ingredient!

Some of each here: one pet, and 10 barnyard ones at the moment. In our family, the strange, dumb, or different ones end up being the pets.

Absolutely pets. When I first got them friends would ask what I was going to do with them when they got older and stopped laying. My DH and I talked about it before we got them and are in perfect agreement, they get to live as long a nice life here as they can, laying or not, and will get a burial in our pet cemetary when nature takes them. We are still in awe at how different the personalities are between chickens. Like anything else in life, once you start to pay attention and really observe things around you, your understanding of the world you are in will change.
