So we are adding a petting zoo to our farms and was looking for good animals to fill the job.

So far I have came up with having two of each animals sticking with a Noah's Ark kind of theme. They need to be good with children as I lot of the people going to the petting zoo will have children.

What we are looking into getting : Goats, Lambs, Pot Bellied Pigs, Male Peacocks, llamas... and I'm not sure what else?

Any help would be great.

You forgot the pony!!!

i think goats are 1 of the worse animals to have in a petting zoo,,, they are always the ones you see jumping on people, kids,,,, and a peacock?,, that would have to be 1 cool pea to let people touch it. i like,,, dogs,, cats,,,,nope,, take the cats out,, they all have attitudes

I like the pony and the donkeys. The chickens are already included they are all over.

I wanted the peacocks just for the looks... I've never had one and just want two males. The Pittsburg Zoo has "wild" but not really wild peacocks that walk all over the zoo (only males) and it's so neat. The come really close to you and the kids throw bread at them to eat. I figured it was worth a shot.

I will have about 4 acres of fenced in pasture for them and a barn to get out of the weather.

The goats will have to be nice... any nice docile breeds?

The dogs and cats run the farm so they are included but they are kind of like the chickens.

Ducks make good petting zoo animals right?

How much are the donkeys?

So far Ducks, Donkeys, Ponies, Peacocks, Llamas, Goats, Lambs, Pot Bellied Pigs,.................
