Yeah, I think you really could have worked on the placement of the clouds.

ETA. This was a joke. Your photo is close to perfect IMHO. Obviously, you can’t control the clouds. 😅
Oh :lau
I thought you meant a different angle or something, lol.
Thank you! After inspecting it some more I feel like maybe the right side is too busy with the hill and those trees, and the left is too open. Which maybe is making it look weird. I could probably erase some of the trees out too if I get time to play with it.
My biggest regret is having to take it using my phone.

With this pic I tried to get more of a not so random pic at the time. How could I have done it differently? It didn't come out how I hoped.

The lighting looks off to me. The shadows behind the chicks give the overall photo a strange vibe.
Maybe snap the photo during the day so you don’t have to use flash?
I personally don’t love the color pink as the background for that particular picture, but that is just my personal opinion.

First off, I love this. I would probably crop it in and eliminate a bunch of the bottom and left side to bring the horses up more into the shot. That's a preference thing though, from a technical perspective there's not really anything wrong here.

The backdrop would be better if it were more interesting, in my opinion. It looks like you just have them on a sweatshirt or something? And it looks like you used the flash, which is giving really odd bright areas and dark shadows. I always prefer natural lighting when taking pics of birds. I'd also try to get more eye level with them, even looking slightly up at them is cool sometimes.

That street lamp thing is a bit distracting.

The lighting seems to be all over the place.

Well, the whole picture is a little blurry.
Yes. All of these. In the end, I decided I would live with the focus issue (it prints at 24x36 and looks great so it's close enough, I had a poster made for my buddy who owned this car), and to deal with the lighting, this is what I came up with.

I brushed out the annoying lamp ion the back, pushed the contrast HARD to flatten the multiple light sources, then dropped a B/W layer over it and backed out the headlights and fog lights for the selective color look. Not gonna be everyone's cuppa, but it was perfect for this shot and the personality of the owner of the car.

Is it Perfect? No. Did it work out? Yup! You can still get a winner from a flawed image if the subject connects with people. So don't feel like every shot you take has to hit the cover of National Geographic. :)
