For your amusement. This is a crop sensor sized lens on a full frame camera body. Nikon F mount lenses are interchangeable and the camera sensor will automatically compensate for the smaller opening of the DX lens on the FX sensor.

Why would you do this, you ask? Normally you wouldn't. However, since I don't have my favorite 16mm wide angle yet in FX size, I may experiment with it and see if just the features of a full frame sensor and better processing capabilities offset the loss of sensor real estate shooting DX lenses on an FX body.

Yes, it's out of focus. I wasn't trying very hard, I wanted to show the crop halo mostly.

Hm. Interesting. To show the halo better, try taking a picture of something with a light colored background. ;)

On a side note... I hope you don't me saying something.... But that area is way too crowded. Way too much is going on. It makes that area look way smaller than it really is. A mirror might help it look a little bit better, but still way too crowded.:oops:

it's all storage in my office. Crowded is expected. I have a wizard's tower. :p

Anyone know why this looks more like a painting than a photograph? Still trying to figure my way around this underwater photography stuff....

Looks like a water clarity issue more than anything. Or perhaps some condensation in the housing

The lighting looks too dark in the background. There's too much haze, too. Maybe if the background was brighter (not so black) and it was dehazed a bit, that might help it.

Do you have an underwater setting on your camera and/or is your camera an underwater camera? Does it have an underwater case or not? If it's in a case, it could of fogged up inside the case like goggles sometimes do.

I did darken the background a little. It is an underwater camera (olympus tg-6) and it was also in a dive case. I haven't had any fogging issues before but that would certainly cause the haziness. I used a lot of dehaze in lightroom (+30). Here is the original. I think water clarity might have been an issue also...

Ok. I thought the picture you had shared was the original. You sure did a lot to improve the picture. It does look like the water quality is pretty bad here.
