Photography 101 a BYC taught class *NEW Lesson on Pg. 21*COLOR*

I am interested in this. I have been an amateur photographer for over 30 years. I had all the fancy lenses, etc. Now I have a point and shoot digital with a zoom which I like. My strength is composition and seeing worthwhile subjects. My weakness is knowing how to put them into photoshop and do anything with them. I do hope you'll cover that.

Great! I think one of our teachers knows photoshop quite well, so I'm sure they will cover that in one or more of the lessons.

I definitely encourage even the seasoned photographers to join in! It is a great way for others to get inspired. Not to mention, we all have our strong points in one thing or another, so sometimes it's nice to push ourselves to try something new or different.

Dont worry it's quite easy to do after the first couple of goes, then it's just playing around with photoshop and learning as you go

I'll be sure we cover basic photoshop skills toward the end of the class. Basically, going over what you can do and how to go about doing it. I'm guessing that's fairly far off though. Going over everything I've learned in my classes, for say digital art like illustration or painting, would take far too long though.

I took a few photography classes in college with my old Pentax k1000 camera however now everything is digital LOL. Looking forward to reading this thread. I will need help with macro. I have a new camera that has macro and still haven't learned to use it right they are still coming out blurry lol.

Does your camera have vibration reduction? (it has several names, sometimes called stabilization) If it doesn't hand held clear macro may be impossible, you would need a tripod.

What kind of new camera are you using? If a dslr, you should check out this website: http://www.dofmaster.com/dofjs.html Adjust to your camera and lens. You can see at what distance and aperture you can expect to have your image sharp. (and yes a tripod and using a remote release or the self timer will help)
