Yes they do live longer than a couple months. And they can live full rich lives. My girl would still be with us if it wasn't for a neighbor's dog that they didn't have time for.

A bit of dry ice, some water, and a tub is all you need. Sheers, an ax, or machete work fine too, but dry ice is less messy.

I off'd a duck that way (for taxidermy class-I ate him too). The worst part about it was when he clonked out-he slipped on the floor of the pet carrier and fell over, completely out cold. I gave him another 10 minuets and he was as gone as gone can be.

Do it the humane, and very quick way. Axe or Secateurs.

You will have nightmares doing it any other way, it takes too long.
