Pic Added! Caught The Pooch

I would guess wolfhound or deerhound in the mix, looks like he is going to have some long legs!

When I got Solomon, I was told he was born April 6th, so he was exactly 3 mos minus 2 days old, and weighed 9 lbs. At 4 mos he weighed 18 lbs. Maybe they're long lost cousins!?

AWWW, Soloman must be very special...He was born on my birthday!

He is, indeed! As are you, for rescuing "his cousin"! It's a good thing I'm the one who took Solomon - he was parvo positive (found out 3 days after bringing him home - he got better), and he has horrible skin. Needs medicated baths several times/week, and has the yeasty ears of a cocker. Luckily, I used to work at the vet 's he goes to, so I get a little "post employee discount", and my DD works there now. Good for him he's so cute and clever!

He can't be a purebred but he sure does look a lot like a Briard pup! I have a client who raises them and as pups they look like just like this, big, shaggy mutty looking things! Good luck finding him a home.

OMGoodness!
I am so glad you are over a thousand miles away.

I don't need another dog. I've got a 16 month old baby and a 6 months pup ... I don't need another dog...

But that pup is beyond irresistible!! Oh the face! The shaggyness!! I wonder if his ears will stand?? He looks like he will be so big and handsome!!

HE is beautiful and I bet you'll find him a great home.

This thread made me so happy,. I could just see you on the ground in your PJ's and that silly dog staying just out of reach!

It shows compassion for a helpless creature,. you have a kind and giving heart. I needed to hear that
I just got finished reading a thread where a person said

" i don't understand how someone could have feelings for an animal that is not theirs..."

I felt so awful for this person,..to not be able to connect or have compassion for a living creature in pain,.( he had just seen a dog hit by a car and seemed annoyed that his friend was sad)

Then I read this thread!!!,.. and breathed a sigh of relief.

I think you have a real treasure in Mabel!

Are you kidding that person is awefull .While out with DD yesterday we slowed down because there was a squirrel in the road it was standing over a dead one. It was very sad. And that was a squirrel , never mind a dog!

I don't know why some people can't or don't have compassion for animals, be it theirs or not. But I have come to notice something a little odd over my years of life.

Sometimes there will be people I just don't click with, not any particular reason we just don't seem to see eye to eye. Or I have an uneasy feeling round them(and this feeling usually appears mutual). Its not that I dislike them, its just this unnamed feeling when I am around them. Then in conversation it might come out that they are not animal lovers or really just can't understand why one would want/love a pet. It took me years to see this connection but it is very real). Now when I have this feeling about someone, i lead the conversation to animals and more often than not it we have very different views on them.

It has happened too frequently to just be coincidence. I don't believe there is a person in my life(not including co workers who I can't choose) who is not an animal lover.

Animals make my life wonderful! They give us nutritious food and amazing companionship. They teach my children valuable lessons in responsibility and compassion. They give so much, they all deserve to have the utmost in our respect and care, regardless if it is an animal destined for the table or to live its life as a family pet.

I will step off my soap box now!

Thats so sweet you did this for him

I am glad there are people in the world like you...
I am a sucker for puppy eyes or oh well any animal eyes lol......

My husband he grew up on a farm he swears up and down he don't like animals....but when we step out of the room or away from him when an animal is near him we can hear him speaking baby talk to them ......its funny when he just swore he is not an animal lover.

I love it when he speaks baby talk to our chickens

and then I tease him about it later......why wont you just admit you love animals just as much as I do.......he just walks away lol
