Pick one thing...

Makes sense! What about the babies in the garage? They have a good size pen in there but I can’t ventilate at night right now because of the cold, is that ok?

Your chicks should have plenty of ventilation in a garage. As long as you don't run a vehicle in there with them....:sick

It may not be a mistake but a common misconception is that roosters are bad...... Wrong! Granted some roosters will cause problems and need to be taken out. But the majority of roosters I have had are a pleasure to have. They are always on guard for any danger to their hens. And they are usually really pretty. The majority of them are gentlemen with their girls. I always keep 5 to 8 roosters here although some of them are quite old and enjoying their retirement. :old

Ok guys, so we are pretty new to chickens... we have had them for about 4 months now however my mom has had a flock for about 10 years so I have some knowledge (way less than I thought lol) If you had to pick one thing for a fellow chicken owner to learn based off your experiences, what would you what would it be?... Only one thing though!! Let’s hear your best advice based on your experiences.
Be prepared to fall in love with....................... chickens. I will happen.

One thing I wish I knew when I first got chickens... Definitely you need to know what you're up against. I was so worried about predators that I didn't give any thought to diseases! And sure enough, I haven't lost any hens to predators, everyone I've lost is to disease. Believe me, know everything that is a danger to your feather babies and be prepared.
