I am looking for a somewhat cheap product to put on some picked sores on a couple of hens. I see the Rooster Booster Pick No More product works whenever someone mentions it. Would someone know if you put one of the ingredients that's in Rooster Booster PNM if that might work by itself? Here is what's in it:

Rooster Booster Pick-No-More Lotion controls cannibalism.

Active Ingredients
Aloe Vera Gel, Calendula (Marigold), Cresylic Acid, Coal Tar Distillate, and Tea Tree Oil.

I've had her separated for awhile now, not putting anything on it except once put some Vaseline on it and it is really slow to heal. Another hen has a spot, not as big, that someone seems to like as well.

Plus, most of the white hens in our little flock have naked bottoms or backs. I see them pecking and they don't listen to me when I tell them to "quit that".

They look unhealthy like this, but I know they are getting decent nutrition. So anyone with some advice, please feel free! We've only had them 3 weeks and I'm learning a lot from this site! Thanks to everyone!

I use peck no more and really like it.it worked wonders for me. it also helps the sore area. my pullet pecked ONCE with this product and hated it so much she stopped her pecking. I was really surprised on how well it worked for me! I liked it so much I bought a couple bottles to have on hand. I was generous with the applications . it really worked for me. but that's my experience with this product. I really like it.my bird hate it that's why it worked so well.

There are various products that can be used for "picked sores." Let's get to the root of the problem and find a solution: What's causing the sores...picking? Or is it something else?

I think it's pecking, but don't know for sure. As I said, I've seen them at it before I removed the one hen. But...she had this sore when we got them which was 3 weeks ago. They all had the bare backs and bums, too.

We're new at this...what else could it be, and what should I be doing for them?
Thanks!!
