Picking new chicks

Heading to our local family owned farm supply to pick our chicks this weekend. What should we be looking for? Any particular physical signs or behaviors of an unhealthy chick? Ie: pasty butt

I always look out for a crossed beak, splayed legs, and just the general spunk the chick has.

No pasty butts and they have to be lively. If you can pick older ones even better. Be aware if you want a rooster or not.. lastly don’t do what I did, buy chicks and didn’t have the coop built. Urghhh!!!
