The colors baffle me since I see pics and people calling them diff colors on each. Especially chick colors!

He is, and he is still in the breeding program. His sons are showing alot of female color but still have not had one turn like him all the way.

I think you have the only one I've heard of .... ok well read about too

He is very different indeed.
I have a male that mated hens, crowed and has a bib. The he started getting mated by the other male. He is with a roo and a hen…. anyway he eventually started laying eggs and stopped crowing. Still that way now. Been about a month or so since he changed. I believe he is what they call caramel colored.

The noise that you think is crowing is actually referred to as trilling and both sexes can do it. Crowing sounds like a low raspy frog croaking, or like raspy wind blowing.

Oh I KNOW that….

I don't "think" it's crowing.
I know the difference tween my Buttons sounds. I just like to call it crowing because they remind me of my chickens, and they make me think of lil mini chickens. So I refer to the male sound as crowing. I guess I should have used correct terminology. LOL.
Either way… it used to mate the hen, never laid eggs and had a bib that faded out and now lays eggs and never "crows" or makes the "male" wind tunnel sounds... to be correct.
Point being, I observed something similar. Only when the bib changed it actually started laying eggs.

what color is this? Still a chick, but it looks like some button superhero with the yellow swirls around the eyes.

I also hatched what looks like will be a trio of whites a couple of weeks ago. Beautiful! Really hope there’s a roo and a hen in the group, but I tend to have bad luck. They hatched the same day, but one is much smaller, so hoping it’s a roo and two hens. :)

If you’re looking for certain colors to add to your flock, there’s an eBay seller who has a list of different colors you can choose from. 20 eggs for $19 or so plus another $18.95 or whatever for 2-day shipping. It’s a gamble…the first batch was horribly shaken up although he packed them well. I had a wonderful 80-90% hatch rate with the free 40 replacement eggs he sent. I think he keeps his colors in separate colonies. May be some inbreeding going on that way, but I dunno.

I've got many many more mutations but the pictures are not right here. Is there a particular mutation you are wanting pictures of?
You have some gorgeous buttons! I love the red breasted female! I also assumed all Tux were male. 🤪 I have two tux, both male.

Here are mine. I assume the white chicks are called whites. I assumed these were a black tux male (but he has blue hues too), a wild type female(?), silver/grey tux (m), and my conjoined birds. Just kidding… they always sleep butt to butt like this. One is a gray male with some pastel colors and a white bib. I think the female is a silver pearl, but I’m not sure about the official color names.
