Pics of orpingtons.

Hi , I love Orpingtons too. I got 3 last July they are about 6 months old now. I also have 2 Polish, they are very cute and they all get on really well together.
I have Buff, Black and Splash Orpingtons. The black is spectacular with a green sheen especially when the sun shines. The splash is also gorgeous, she's the only one laying eggs, I get about 6 a week. They have a lovely gentle nature and are very friendly.

I can't believe how big my buff orpington pullet is. She was hatched late spring and is the biggest out of my flock of 20. Even bigger than my BR cockerel who is the same age!

She is very low on the pecking order, even though she is huge. Even some of the 4 month old pullets boss her around! She is very afraid of me

Hope she comes around!

I have a ton of buff orpingtons. They are by far my favorite breed although my ameraucanaXBO EEs are a close second. They are great mothers, great pet type chickens, lay eggs faithfully throughout the year and are great foragers...They were the first breed I started with...I remember after I got into Ameraucans how shocked I was at the size difference after just having orps, I thought they were normal sized chickens

i only have one and she is the calmest of all of mine shes not loud or mean she likes being the one in the back ground but she walks up to me and says hi at times.
she injoys being held and cuddled and she never trys to run away.. unlike my RIR who will flap scratch and screach as soon as thier feet arent on the ground any longer.
shes big and fluffy. almost as big as my cochin. and WAY younger.. i hear they make great mothers and Excellent broodys.
i think im getting more next spring so far my fav. chicken breed.

I have one, but she is wonderful. In temperment, they are sweet natured, not too loud, and lay well. I highly recommend them.
