We put 16 inch plywood boards under our three roosts that we had covered with linolium. Wraping it around the board. It works great and I can even take them our every couple of months and really clean them off good with clorox water. I really like them this way. I scrap them off every few weeks and then wash them off every three or four months. We started out just painting the boards ( 12 inch ones ) and found they were not wide enough to catch everything. and the painted boards just didn't clean well. We had put just the cheaper linolium from a store like Home Depot or Lows on the floor, so we decided to do the same with the poop shelf and it works great.
Sweet PDZ is a horse stall refresher. It keeps the smell to a minimum from the ammonia in the poop. It works great on a poop board as you would kinda scoop the poop out of it - like cleaning a cat litter box. Highly recommend! Here's a link from the Sweet PDZ site:
