I know people have different opinions on treats and scratch, but I dont think Jafar has long left and she doesn’t eat a lot anymore, so anything she’ll eat, I just let her. I caught her having tipped over the scratch bucket this morning and it kind of melted my heart knowing that she actually wanted to eat.View attachment 3900773
Keep an eye on her just in case. Sometimes they do this as a prelude to illness or when dehydrated. She is a beautiful girl.Indigo Copying the Polish
Indigo, my Easter Egger hen, seems to have caught on to the Polish's strange way of sitting. I have never seen a chicken other than a Polish sit with their legs extended out until now.

I have seen pictures of pigeons doing the Polish sit when they are sick or dying. I did not know that chickens would do the same thing. The Polish just sit like that, their vaulted skull makes them do really weird things. Indigo acts fine, but I know chickens can hide things very well. I doubt she would be dehydrated, all chickens have constant access to water day and night.Keep an eye on her just in case. Sometimes they do this as a prelude to illness or when dehydrated.
