Where did you get him and what leads you to believe he is an Ameraucana instead of an EE?

I got him from an online breeder close to here. He sells easter eggers along with black and blue ameraucanas. I could still be wrong about him being an ameraucana, but he has all the attributes. From the start he acted completely different from the 12 easter egger cockerels in his batch. A lot calmer, easy to handle. He stood out from the rest: completely black while the other cockerels were getting a bunch of red in their feathers, larger muffs, slate black legs. His calmer attitude was especially more prominent when all the other cockerels started getting aggressive.

Again, maybe I am wrong about him being an ameraucana, but all the evidence suggests he is.

Again, maybe I am wrong about him being an ameraucana, but all the evidence suggests he is.

Given where you got him I would bet it is a true Ameraucana. Plus I don't think I have ever seen an all black easter egger. Though the Black Ameraucana from Meyer I got last month (they sell Blue so 25% will be black, 25% splash and 50% blue ... I also got a splash in my order of 2 Blue Ameraucana) is effectively an Easter Egger because it has 5 toes on each foot. That is a fail for APA SOP Ameraucana. They have some bad genes in their pool.

I have a nearly 6 week old SLW also a GLW Right now they are not laced but striped. I guess they'll need a couple of juvenile moults to get to laced.
