Thanks! I'm really amazed since mom (Beilefelder roo x EE hen) doesn't have the dark colors like a Bielefelder hen does. She's muted grays and caramel (Hence the name Turtle Dove). My Silkie roo has a multitude of colors predominantly grays too.

That's always good thing with a roo. My Rhode island is like that.

The truth Is, I've never had a mean rooster. I've had several dozen cockrels and five roosters through the years. I guess I'm uncommonly lucky.
Well, with that anyway. I usually get 3 cockrels to every pullet. This was the first year ever, that I've had a 50/50 split.

My alpha rooster. Three years old. Extremely mild character toward humans, has never attacked anyone from the family and is always ready to take treats from your hand. Very aggressive toward other roosters!



The breed is Silver Italian.
