My alpha rooster. Three years old. Extremely mild character toward humans, has never attacked anyone from the family and is always ready to take treats from your hand. Very aggressive toward other roosters!



The breed is Silver Italian.

He's gorgeous!

The truth Is, I've never had a mean rooster. I've had several dozen cockrels and five roosters through the years. I guess I'm uncommonly lucky.
Well, with that anyway. I usually get 3 cockrels to every pullet. This was the first year ever, that I've had a 50/50 split.

Wow. You are lucky. I've had some mean jerks. Nice ones were far and in between. I've only had 2 nice ones I had this one rooster not quite a bantam not quite normal size. Got him as a chick. Guy said he was dutch. He only had one hen. All the others had been picked off. He was mean to humans..but so sweet to his hen. She was a leghorn. Lol. Then I had a giant sweet black rooster..sweet fella. He would sit on a rocking chair on the porch, look in the window....and you guessed it...watch tv

I've got 9 tremendous Roosters, all the aggressive ones left the farm to live elsewhere. Here's another project I'm working on. I have a pair of Bantams from my own hen and rooster. I hatched 4 eggs, and got 3 pullets and one cockerel. Mom is jet black with the greenish blue sheen, dad looks like a mini BR. All three of the pullets came out with varying degrees of white and black or grey, while Bro is............ Black.
