I was just trying to be helpful because this was my roo at just 2.5 weeks old.

Turkey/gamebird formula have higher protein ratios and extra vitamin/mineral mix.

Well at 3 months the bird lady hrre told me to go from chicken crumbles to eggg producer high protein pellets til they are grown.

You should follow the instructions on the feed bag. I have seen them say to start using the layer feed at 16 weeks old

Moving to layer is not necessary until they start laying eggs though. I usually wait until one of them lays an egg. Depending on the breed and time of year, that can be from 18 weeks old to well over 30 weeks old

Mine go directly from starter to layer ... because as soon as they can get out of the brooder area, they hit the older hens' feeder.

To be fair, my first 12 went from starter to grower. It wasn't until the second batch that the grower was skipped. I buy the local VT (3rd generation company) feed and they don't have an "all flock" type.
