Picture Of The Week (POW) Information & Submissions

Merry Christmas from Big Lady and all the Reese Critters!

Big Lady got her name because she is only 12 weeks old and is twice as big as some of the other 12 week old ladies (even her sister who is also a Buff Orpington). She is as big as some of my full grown hens. She also has a heart to match her size. 🥰

Love your holiday photo!
How many pics did you have to take before getting the one where everyone was still & in a nice pose?

I have a Big Lady too, named her Jenna, was told she's Buff Orpington when I got her a few days old, but I think she's probably a mix, she's a paler shade of gold. She grew SO BIG as a chick, now she is still bigger than her 2 more golden color 'sisters', but not as much as they grew, too. Funny thing, although she is bigger, she's the biggest wimp! What a cry baby! She reminds me of 2 'big baby' White Rock hens I used to have, they were big wimps too. My flock all know the routine, most will stand still for me to pick them up, set them on my lap and check them over and pet them. Once she's on my lap she's fine, but when I 1st go to catch & pick her up, she runs, carries on, squawks & kicks, it is quite comical, a big girl like that carrying on, when no one has ever hurt her or even so much as pecked her. Well I guess a big wimp is better than a big bully for sure.
