Picture Of The Week (POW) Information & Submissions

I would never hold back from sharing some pictures (I was actually already planning on posting a "few";))!View attachment 3968219View attachment 3968220Gabby GooseView attachment 3968222AugustineView attachment 3968223LucyView attachment 3968224And Adeline
These were taken about 2 months ago. I recently added 2 younger ones I hatched, and I picked up 3 more from someone in our area.View attachment 3968227View attachment 3968230View attachment 3968238View attachment 3968239View attachment 3968240EmView attachment 3968241Gabby GooseView attachment 3968243And another one of Lucy.
These pictures were taken just about a week or two ago.

Today I started digging potatoes in the garden, and the geese decided to hang out with me almost the whole time I spent digging! They decided that they liked nibbling on the potatoes (as well as my fingers and toes) until I found out what they were doing (those poor little potatoes went in a pile that was scheduled to be eaten first). If only they understood me when I talked. I would have given them a lecture about how they were MY potatoes :rant .
Congrats on pow!

A nice set of pictures. Gabby Goose is gorgeous! Did you eventually come right planting potatoes?

Well done on the POW.

Thank you so much everyone! They really are beautiful. They are one of the favorite lawn ornaments of mine!:D I was hoping to hatch quite a few this year, but unfortunately they all decided to go broody after just 1 month from the start of their laying season. I did wind up setting a lot of eggs in the incubator, but I think I might have a bacteria growing in it because I'm losing a lot of eggs.:(
I tried to have the geese sit on some of the eggs and hatch them out but it seems that once the eggs start hatching, they get super excited and they have crushed and trampled a few eggs. When the next batch starts hatching, I will separate Lucy (she seems to be the best broody) and let her hatch some by herself.

Gabby Goose is one of my favorites, @Gill-b! She is one of the friendliest out of the group. We did! I had to quickly finish digging up the rest of the potatoes. They are just too sweet to get mad at!
