Q: When should you move chicks from the incubator into the brooder?

A: When they start peeking out the ventilation holes!

i believe chicks can live off the nutrients of their absorbed yolk sac for up to 2 days inside your incubator. Me, i take them out when they get about 90% fluff balled, and that normally takes about 18 hours after they hatch.

Thanks all. I couldn't help myself... had to share.
The bottom pic reminds me of the Wizard of Oz.
No one gets in to see the Wizard! Not no way, not no how!

dd I think we could do a series as a group effort (this is just my second hatch, I know you [all] have more photos than I do!)

great pics. but i think he want to get fresher air than hot air inside bator so he take a look from the vents

i grab mine out 2 hours after hatch due to soccer training by kicking other eggs he did inside bator.

Mulia, this one got "ejected from the game" for treating her mates toes as mealworms. I didn't think it was fair as that one still had her shell on her bottom & couldn't strike back.

Don't worry though. Now that they are both in the brooder, no ones toes are safe.
