Picture thread of my hens!

Mabel's still doing really well. She still prefers me over the other hens, it's quite sad really because today when I went to go home she followed me around the field acting like were walking around together. I decided to find her some worms so I grabbed a stick and dug holes and she say with her head in the hole waiting for a worm to dive on! Then when I really had to go I lifted her up and put her over the fence in the woods and she was running back and forth trying to get out because I was leaving. Felt so bad but I didn't want her following me up the field all alone.

Looks like Bella's a mam again! It was Bella's mother orp originally sitting, but once I moved Bella into orps house orp started playing up. Not sure of it's because of Bella's arrival or because she was sitting for so long. Orps not been on the eggs for 4 days but refuses to leave the broody shed, so not sure what she's up to. I'm 10000% sure she won't hurt the babies so that's why I'm not forcing her out, she will just steal them if anything. Bella's a bit confused, probably because the eggs have hatched within a week of her being broody and because she probably doesn't remember being with a duck! Was so scared to go up this morning incase anything had happened to the duckling (rat drama), but luckily, the baby was safe! :)

Awwwww - that is so adorable. I love how ducklings always look like they are smiling : )

The new broody coop should hopefully stay secure.
Thank you! And yes, hopefully this one will keep the rats out! But I'm fairly certain I don't have any rats now :)

I love Bella. She is the best mom to any critter, I can tell. My Shim was raised by me and co-mom Pickles, a male guinea pig. I bet Bella would even raise a guinea pig. Thanks for all your pics. They always make my day.
