Here is our biggest Rooster. He is pretty, not sure about the breeds of any of my birds, so if anyone knows please tell me!!

Here is a chicken we have that is much better looking feather wise as our others. What breed is this one?

Hens sitting on eggs, look at thier backs, why are they all missing feathers on their backs. What is causing that. The only chicken who doesnt have the missing feathers was in the previous picture.

This is the make-shift baby chicken coop until they get big enough to hang with the older ones. Not pretty at all but serves its purpose!

Dad working the tractor and a huge metal awning that blew into our yard during Hurricane Ike. We are soon going to make that into a chicken coop roof, when we add more room to our coop.

What color eggs do your hens lay?
I'm not sure what kind you've got- but the naked backs could mean you have a picker in your flock- probably the one with no feathers missing! It has happened to some of my dark brids, but never the light ones. Sweet chicks & kids!

The naked backs could also be from your roosters mating with the hens. Mine have it too. The old farmer who i got them from had 2 roosters for 20 hens which i think is an ok ratio(dont quote me on it though) But they were over mated.

Man poor girls!! That could be it because those rooster never ,,leave the hens alone.

I saw in a magazine these cute little jackets that the hens can wear. Now I see that they really might be of good use, not just for fashion, lol. I heard its from the mating. Bad boys!

it might be from the rooster but i doubt it...i have only 5 hens and 2 roosters and mine are all fully feathered.

the feathered hen is probably the plucker.


ETA: separate that hen for a while and see if it gets better, if not then separate the rooster next. it shouldn't take long to find the culprit.
