Really though it sounds like you are having fun.

OHHHHHHH I do have it bad. But thankfully 6 are your RIRs and some seramas for your son. You know you can't have just one serama chick. It would be so lonely

Wait I am going to go candle your eggs....BRB

, 1 NO, and one possible They will go into lockdown on the 26th and should hatch the 29th

Have you collected more for me to bator?

I will have 35 or so going into lockdown tomorrow, so there will more room. I am having a blast. When this is all done I should let you borrow my bator so I won't be tempted to buy more eggs.

I forgot to ask...Did you win that auction? Do you need me to bator them? I was looking at that auction but I saw you were the high bidder. Like I need more breeds right?

I sent some RIR eggs to a BYCer in Alabama last week. He has some really nice Heritage Barred Rocks . He is going to send me some eggs from them in the future.
We have been saving some RIR eggs to put in the bator later this week(just a few). I have two Hovabator Genesis 1588 incubators so I can hatch these. You and I can hatch as many as you can stand as soon as they start laying in earnest.
If you are out of room I could actually hatch some of your eggs if you needed me to. Then we could just bring them to you at a couple days old.

On second thought that might might not be a good idea. Never know when we are going to go from a 3 person family to 4.
I been told no big hatches until after the baby comes.

You are probably in need of a brooder. I have a large water tank like they use at Atwoods and a wire top for it. I won't be in need of it for at least a couple months, I can bring it to you on Friday. We have brooded lots and lots of chicks in it. It will hold 30+ until they are about 10-14 days old then you have to transfer some.

Oh My goodness that would be awesome. But Friday is bad. I'm having family over. Is Saturday ok? Or I could come pick it up? I would love for you to come out and visit. I can show you the new plans for the new coops and runs.

Let me know and thanks for the offer. I could really use it. Got 13 in the spare bath tub now.......

But they are ready to go to the coop.

Yes Saturday would be good.
Nice looking layout, I look forward to seeing it when your done.
I am tired of all this rain. Really starting to get muddy in my Welsummer pen. I need to do some improvement on the drainage on that corner of my pens.

It is half done. But I need some sunny days to dry up the mud so I can continue working too. I had to put some leaves in the runs to keep the chickens from sinking. Poor babies. I worry all this wetness will cause some kind of bacteria to grow.

ANOTHER chicken hatched and 2 more broke through the shell a little. I pray they make it! I will post a pic in the morning. It is so tiny I really don't want to take it out of the bator for too long. Hubby took a pic while I was gone.

He did not know better. But it seems to be gaining strength. I just can't believe how tiny a chicken can really be. I think it's a Serama. Very tiny. Smaller than my silkies when they where born.
Get ready. From the 24th to the 1st of January I hope to have 50-80 hatch, God willing.
