Hello,

I don’t know much about this chicken, she may be a Cochin? Her leg had a growth that the previous owner pulled off, and asked me to clean and bandage. That was a few weeks ago, I found her again with the bandage still in her. I can’t tell if I got it all off, if this is new growth or something bad, it definitely smells.

we live in the city so bird doctors are hard to find. Does anyone recognize this as a disease, or have any better ideas for treatment?

It might be better to wash the leg with soap and water, and dry it and then look at the wound area. If the bandage was left on too long it would smell bad.
I can’t tell what that is in the picture. Is it dry? Is there drainage?

When I removed the bandage there was some puss, but this seems like harder tissue, or else the bandage’s inner layers are still there
