Babies moved out to the brooder today. They were born Friday and Saturday. Cute little buggers. Do they look like Black Australorp to you?



So when they moved in, someone had to move out. My other chicks (I checked, they just turned 4weeks today) moved out to the tractor. It was a little dim out, so they were sleeping.

Well, most everybody was. The tummy rules, I guess.


Speaking of rules, this guy is a rule breaker! No standing in the food!!

Just too cute! my two chicks are now 2weeks old the do definitely grow way too fast! wish the weather was that warm here! although we have had a couple good days but back to thunderstorms tonight! :-( Im keeping my chicks inside for as long as possible, I do have a lamp in the coop but I dont have enough chick starter for the whole flock to eat so will keep them separate until they can all eat the same food makes it alot easier to feed them separately atm, cleaning on the other hand now takes alot longer!

I am not sure what they are. The daddy was identified as black Australorp, and 2 of the mamas were too. However, two mamas are still unknown. Maybe they will just be mutts. I hope they don't look like the unknowns, they look like buzzards. The one in the dish and its friend are Goloden Buffs from Meyers. I got them and a few Rhode island Reds. There is also one lone Barred Rock I hatched from my previous chickens. I hope it is a pullet. I think it is, but I am no sexing expert.

I moved my tractor today. Chicks went wild! They were especially excited about this dirt patch. The big chick's name is Turkey. It isn't a turkey, but it is much bigger than everyone else. I bought it a week before the others and I think it was two weeks old. It seems to be a golden buff like the others. Not sure. One is playing peek-a-boo.
