Here is our new chicken coop almost finished~only one more week-end and it should be done and chicks in their new home!

Our little chicks love being outside in their little coop. The first night out they had a visitor. Rocky the raccoon. Not a chance bub....



























Will be picking up some sand soon for the run and under the coop. Still doing the DL method inside the coop. May change that too.

It appears you have hardware cloth on the window of the coop. If they are locked in there at night, you should be fine. A coon will rip right through the chicken wire though.

It's actually 17 gauge galvinized steel stucco wire. Seems to be much stronger than standard poultry wire. Chicks have been outside for the last 2 weeks and no signs of attempted entry.

All these coops are so pretty! *if* we'd had more resources, and regulations didn't get funny with outbuildings (a limit or you have to have a permit) where we are, or if my hubby had wanted chickens, ours might have turned out a lot more fancy. But here is ours. We have urban chickens, so our property is not as big, so we only have 3 chickens. We had one more, but she didn't make it... May still get another. Dimensions are 4x10 and about 7+ft tall. The coop itself is 4x4. Our girls are still young, and we intend to build a nesting box onto what we have for them as they get a little older. We are still working on this, still needs trim and paint.

@sigmachigirl. Its beautiful. Love the scrollwork on the side. All of these coops r great. Mine new oneis in the process right now. Its just a big old hay feeder turned upside down and closed in. Hope to finish this coming weekend so I can get chicks out of house. A roo crowing in the house is not a good thing at 345 in the morn. Lol

Our repurposed play house. It is all complete now and will be heading to the swap this Saturday. Looking for a few silkies, a few EE"s and a few leghorns.
