We did a swap of some of these blocks last year.
My aunt Judith is an excellent quilter. I don't applique and I hate cutting out and don't love piecing, but I love to hand quilt. Sometimes one of my aunts or my mom will piece a quilt and I will do the quilting for them or they will piece a quilt for me to finish.
Right now I am working on some of my grandmother's grandmother's quilts that she pieced (by hand) before she died. And at an auction two weeks ago I got a black trash bag full of quilt tops for $1. There are probably 20 of them. Some are falling apart, but some are still in good shape. The man (who is 81) whose father pieced them said the fabric was left-over from clothing his mom made.
I pieced two nice pink quilts when I was pregnant last year. But the dr. was mistaken about me having a girl and I haven't finished them!
