Pied gene in chickens?

If there were an actual pied chicken, how would you expect it to look like?

Pyle, Mottled, Paint, or neither?

Not all not breeds that come from barnyard mixes are mixed breeds. You get purebreds in them too depending on the seller you get them from. There's sellers that sell purebred barnyard mixes.
There's different types of barnyard mixes, and I only search if I can't figure something out.

If it were a mixed breed, what would it be a mix of?

Why? We know that Mottled birds usually have large patches of white feathers. It's common sense. It doesn't really matter if it looks pied. It isn't.

Just to reinforce that pied looking chickens are a feather phase, not a set pattern

Looky dis.... If there was a pied gene this pullet might steal the show. Or tuxedo. Mottled gene expressing on black. The black cockerel is a full brother to the tuxedo pullet .

Why? It's not pied. Speaking with a lot of experience with breeding birds that are pied, it would have shown from the beginning. Whatever is happening with her has nothing to do with being pied.

I know what pied Guinea fowl look like and this silkie has white on it’s butt, chest and legs. Splash or mottled? It’s a hatchery silkie.
