You are not likely to have this problem, but I thought I would throw it out there anyway. If she is hostile to the pigs right after giving birth, this is what my uncle used to do. Right after having pigs the mother is thirsty. So instead of giving her water, he would give the grouchy females beer. A lot of beer. The object was to get her snockered. She would lay down, go to sleep, and then the pigs could nurse. By the time she sobered up she would accept the pigs. I read about this in a James Harriot story and I laughed because I remembered that was what my uncle did. When I had pigs, my sows all knew and trusted me. My dad once brought home a big Poland China sow who hated everybody and she was vicious. She was a good mother, but working with her or her pigs was not fun.
