I understand.... I felt that way when I found my Plantain. It is like... How can this be happening?

It just doesn't feel real... it doesn't feel right. It's going to take a long time for this hole in my heart to close. She was in so much better shape when I gave her to them vs when they gave her back to me.

Are you going to get a necropsy? It might give you some peace. It did for me with my duck, Clover. I found out that there was nothing I could have done for her and it helped me release my guilt of, "if only I would have done this or that!"

I thought about it... but I don't think so. Mainly just because that would be another expense and I'm already $500 down

When I was talking to the vet she said that she looks good and that she could tell i take good care of her... I just don't understand how she can go from that to dead in less than an hour.

It was the same with my Plantain. I tube fed her at 9pm, put her to bed, got up at 5am the next morning for her feeding and found her dead. She'd been anorexic but had been waking around almost normally the night before. It was devastating.

The vets told me that she had EYP, and the egg had burst inside her overnight. We didn't know until she had a necropsy, though.

I'm sorry that happened that is very sad. I'm just confused ill need to talk to the vet once I collect myself. This morning she didn't seem that bad, when I handed her off she didn't seem that bad. When they handed her back she just seemed more wobbly trying to push out her wings to balance herself but I couldn't really tell the extent of it until I got her off of my lap when we got back home. It was a blue pearl vet and from my understanding they are usually pretty good, so I just don't understand how this was not noticed?
