Pigeon acting off. Odd poop?

So they did an X-Ray and at least confirmed she doesn't have an egg in her. They said that there was a little bit of inflammation, but they wanted to do some blood tests for an extra $150 but considering I am doing this on borrowed money I cannot spend that much. She said they will prescribe her some antibiotic and hopefully she will perk back up. I ended up spending $512 to not get very much information. Depending on if she starts feeling better I may or may not have to bring her into my regular vet for a follow up. This is just very very bad timing.. at the moment I just don't have any money at all, 0$ in the bank account.

Did they send you home with tube feeding supplies, or say anything about her anorexia?

I relate about the expenses. In February and March I spent 3,000 on Thimbleberry. Saturday I spent about 800 on Pigweed. And on Friday Thimble is going back for her checkup with bloodwork. There goes another 400 at least. This is the part I did not anticipate when I got ducks... Their medical needs. I have doubled my work hours to afford them.

Yeah I do find myself in quite the dilemma.. I could work a lot more hours if I had a predator proof run for them, but I don't like spending that much time away from home when they are just in my yard. Need the work to build a run, but need a run to do enough work.. Even though it's fenced in and netted, right now there is a tree I am waiting for the city to come remove that fell on my fence making the perfect ramp for any predator to get in here. I called the vet back and they suggested giving her the medicine, and trying to give her some food and water with a syringe. If she isn't looking any better in a few hours I will probably have to bring her back.

That tree ramp sounds very scary.

I understand. Even though my ducks have a huge aviary I still hate being away from them so much. I used to spend so much time with them but now I only have an hour a day, at most, and weekends. It was a hard choice, and I decided to work more and provide them medical care. It's one of those no win scenarios.

I hope Pigeon is feeling better shortly. That video is really sad. Did they mention internal laying at all? The anorexia and increased thirst remind me of my Plantain, and that was her eventual diagnosis. Of course, it could be many things.

I have the worst possible news I could think of......... I am completely devastated and breaking down. I went to cvs to get some oral syringe to feed her and when I came back she was gone.... I have no idea how this is possible..

Can you check under the coop? When my ducks are sick sometimes they hide.
