Pigeon Bulletin Board?

A young feral pigeon came into my loft yesterday. I usually scare this type of bird off and do not let it mix with my flock. However something about this particular bird that made me think of one of the first pigeons I owned
Jackson he traveled 719 miles home after almost a year being held prisoner.

Picture of my new arrival I promised today.

In a perfect world I plan on keeping her.
I will name her Julia after Stonewall Jackson's daughter.

(Jack if it turns out to be male)

Julia is wearing white trousers. I can't see all of her leg but I'm guessing they're capri length.:lau

Julia is wearing white trousers.
Julia is undersized for a homing pigeon very thin compared to any in my flock. At first glance is just a bit larger than a robin.
Julia is very "BRIGHT" and has come accustom to the water and feeder already. She is settling in well (still very aloof of course) and will not be bullied.
Julia has claimed her own perch and returned from her first release from a loft fly. She conquered the bob trap with no hesitation today. I will challenger her with her first toss of one kilometer before the end of the week.
I do believe she may turn out to be the "DOMINATE" pigeon in the loft.
If she posses even a portion of the homing instinct Jackson had I will be more than happy.
Julia may be even a cousin to JacKson as he was feral as well.
She was last to leave the loft on her second fly and first to return today. The bobs were just incidental to her.
Not a picky eater by NO MEANS will pass on some survival methods to the flock possibly.

Great! I'll be looking for that update .
Oh I forgot about the camera that happens when you almost have 70 trips around the sun. By the way they were enjoying the flight and the tight formation they were flying in I am almost certain they made it back to the loft without incident.
Try to remember the camera on the next toss.
Does not pay to be almost certain.
My oldest and best long flying homer (a blue bar) failed to return
along with Julia.

The two young squeakers made it back no problem. They may have been scattered by a hawk.
Will be watching the skies today.

:fl for your Blue Bar! Glad Julia and the squeakers made it. I'm only a few trips behind you so I understand forgetting the camera! Lol I hope to keep hearing about Julia. My feral Loper is also a small bird tho bigger than a robin. She also will not be bullied!
