Pigeon Bulletin Board?

I finally managed to get my flock up to 30 birds. Weasels have been playing havoc with me this winter. I went over my loft with steel covering the lower portions of my baby barn. Now if I just remember to keep the door closed at night I might be able to keep the numbers stable. GEDC0168.JPG

Find it odd two of my 5 homers did not return yesterday from maybe a 5 mile toss. They may have stopped in at a pigeon bar. They are usually home before I can arrive.
:fl

Once we found a white homer that seemed unwell. The 2nd day it was even more lethargic and so we could catch it. My my brother googled the band # and we returned it to the owner. :D

Sounds like a good idea to me
This is a video done recently on yours truly a while back by our local TV station.

This is very cool. A lot of people in the U.S. lose sight of who else made the ultimate sacrifice during WW2... but MANY of us Americans will NEVER forget what our Canadian brothers to the north did on Juno Beach, and throughout the war.

Well it took them 3 days to do it but my 2 lost birds finally made it back to the loft today. When I check the bands I realized they were two young birds who have never started their training regiment. I was very lucky to have them return at all.

I am very impressed with my homing stock. Those two birds were not prepared to fly home especially from that distance.

Just goes to show season pigeon fanciers are not immune to stupidity.

I'm so happy to hear that!:clap Extra peanuts for those 2?

If anyone could commit to buying a 2018 Other Poultry Calendar for around $11, please go to this thread and say so.:D At least 50 calendars need to be ordered to make it possible and so far about 38 members are committed. Some of the Duck people really, really want to see this happen and it could possibly even contain a pigeon if someone could submit a winning photo! Thanks!
