Pigeon Bulletin Board?

Hi everybody, I'm just excited to share my observation...
This morning (day after Valentine's @sourland ) I saw 2 of my birds doing the 'French kissing' thing, I think it's called billing. I was surprised, don't even have any nest bowls yet! The best part is that they are the (supposedly) Houbens. I was hoping they would pair up but with 8 birds in the loft I didn't think it would happen naturally. Sure hope they stay together. Maybe they are a little older than the others. Anyway, @cavemanrich I will be alert for more courting behaviors! When should I put some nest bowls and materials in? They haven't taken a nest box yet.

If you don't mind me saying nest box now cause first the preening then they feed each other and the cock will start the mounting then in 8 days as I'm sure you know it's egg drop squabs! I know I'm late with the shout out cuz but it's all good!

OK - So I banded too early, both bands slipped off overnite. Found one band on loft floor, .... can't find the other yet. Eaten??

Hatch was Tues Apr 24 morning. Banding done Sun Apr 29 eve.

Great way to get your pigeons to basket shared by a fellow BYCer Biophiliac. I used shelled unsalted peanuts to train with similar results.

And on my area they are not cheap you would think cause there are it would be cheaper BUT OH NO! top dollar for a small bag by the time i got home i ate over half the bag!!

They almost double in one day. in my area of these United States wich I love like a kid brother! The past couple days have been a bit cold I'm worried that it might be waighing on the smallest of the two in the meen time mom and pop are out getting there freak on for the next clutch of eggs! Why must maw and paw be so shelfish?
