Pigeon found in Fleetwood, PA

I was told by a pigeon show breeder that sometimes the lost birds that are returned are sold as show birds. So its not true that they are culled. Ive read on some yahoo groups where breeders have allowed them to keep the bird, and gave or sold them another to keep it company. Congrats on the new pet though.

Ther was also an incident last year where one of the schools ended up with a lost racing homer. They caught the bird and contacted the owner. Owner told them to let her rest a couple of days, and let her go. That she would find her way back home. The children cared for the bird right till the day they released her. From what the paper said, she made it back to her loft. the breeder had even named her. I can't remember what it was.

Yes this is what happen with most, these are one raised and raced to their home loft. The owner know best, if in a one loft race he will not want it relesed, and may give it away or come and get it.

Mine are train to fly to my home, so if not to far, will have them released, or pick them up depend on the bird and shape its in.
