Pigeon Nest

I like paper disposable nest bowl. If you buy them in bulk they're cheap. You can staple them to the floor of the nest box, and when they get old just through them out. Otherwise I use the clay bowls. I prefere tobacco stems. You can order them from New England Pigeon Supplies. The tobacco helps control lice.

I use the cardboard nests, i like the fact that they can be tossed out and replaced between each set of eggs and if you buy them in volume you can get them very inexpensive.
our Frillbacks love them

I've tried round ceramic bowls, plastic tubs, all sorts of round containers. But the favourite seems to be grass nests. My parents pulled out a bunch of long grass, used string to tie them into a long bunch and bent it into a circle. The birds love this, even though there is no base. Just a hoop made from long grass!
