[OhZark Biddies]

Building a small kit box type building for sick birds or maybe a few young birds. Need opinions on a wire floor or a wood floor with storage underneath? Can’t make up my mind.

I built something similar... I used 1/2” x 1” welded wire for the bottom... then used 2x4 welded for a skirt along the bottom, and buried that and added rocks along the bottom... and then added some picket garden fence that I had on hand...

It’s already been tested by raccoons trying to dig in, but they didn’t...

I’m new to pigeons though, so this has only been in place for about a month

Thanks for all the input, I definitely prefer wood since I can see the droppings but have seen lots of the kit boxes with wire and was thinking it may be a little easier for the cleanup but I guess I’ll most likely go with the wood since it’s what’s in my bigger loft as well

Yup, his name is Scruff.
My dad got Scruff given him as a squab without any feathers, and raised him into the beast he is now. He still has his sweet moments where he might permit you to pet him and will lightly beak you rather than try to maul you, but he is a bit of a brat who tries to fight you and then flirt with you.

Got the trap built and floor put in today. Hopefully will have time to finish it up by the end of the week.

I'm giving the NN tumblers one more shot before I decide to switch to another breed (which would be Saints, which I still might get a couple pairs of).

I found a breeder who has reds and bought a hen for Rojo, my red boy. And to justify shipping cost I also bought another red cock and a yellow hen.
