Pigeon Talk

That's exactly how I placed the cloth over Doo's bowl when hand raising,... with the same result.:gig I really did expect her to be fine at that stage of development.
Btw, the he?she? with baby pigeons when gender is unk was bugging me so I located a new gender neutral term - hir, hirs and hirself, from wikipedia. So if I use it - don't get confused.:lau

I'm not surprised we did something similar :D
Hir, hirs, hirself. I like it :)

Glad bugsy is ok! Its unlikely they were trying to get her to leave but hay, there smart! Seeing how many feathers are coming in i wouldnt worry about cold as much unless getting extremely low.

Have you heard a price?

I just kinda got the feeling that mom was saying "C'mon kid, get out and eat for yourself, I'm tired of feeding you"... :gig

I heard back from the seller. I tried not to sound too overly excited in my reply, but $10 each! :drool I told him I would definitely want 3, probably take all 5! :clap
(he is having some medical issues, which is why he is selling off his birds, so he can't send pics until he is cleared to go back to the loft. Should be cleared on the 28th)

Sorry about the plus+ yall. When my battery gets low, it goes wacko! If theres ever jiberish from me, my battery got to low! Lol.

:lau I think we've all learned to read thru typos and jiberish. :)

X2 on the typos and jiberish..:gig
Some classified listings I ran across. They don't all indicate a location, but some listings have websites indicated.

What a great opportunity to up your numbers to breeding loft size! As an older person who may someday have to rehome my birds I sympathize with the seller. The price is more to ensure they are wanted. I hope he realizes what a good home you will give them!:hugs

@WVduckchick AWESOME! You should get all 5. Its always helpful to have an extra or two incse of a predetor break in or anything.

@biophiliac how long have you had pigeons? I feel sorry for all the people having to get rid of their birds. Atleast i started young.
Yes you are lucky to have started young and you have so much knowledge about them already. I got my first 6 birds last Dec around this time and I was thinking about that yesterday. Here are 5 of the first 6 all huddled in one nestbox when they first arrived - see how clean? haha

You asked about color changes as they age...

The hen next to the red check molted into the bird below with much more white.
