Pigeon Talk

My experience is limited to babies 10days plus. I think the main thing is to wait for the crop to empty. With younger ones that might mean more feedings.
I agree, letting the crop clear is key.

Once mine got bigger I fed them twice a day, but when they were younger, it was at least four times a day, or at least that's what I remember.

Disclaimer - I've only done this with 10 or fewer squabs, so I am far from being an expert on the subject.
Ha! You're not an expert... ;)

I have noticed that my pigeons don't feed their squabs more than 3times a day. They often don't feed till I feed, which is usually at 4. Then they feed several times before roost. This is with older ones though. Like 2week old ones. Not sure with younger ones though.
I read somewhere that once they get bigger the parents only feed them twice a day. Of course, I read it on the internet, so it must be true! :lau :hide

One can never master feeding squabs. But your pretty close ;)

Do you have pigeons? Or have you just had them in the past?
I have about 20 of those feral types. They aren't breeding like they used to, so haven't had to care for any squabs in a year or two.
