Pigeon Talk

This is what I purchase usually about 6 to 8 bags at a time. (when on sale I end up with an extra bag or 2 over regular price:)) I feed my feathered friends, as well as give as scratch to my chickens,, and pigeons got a helping of it along/besides their regular pigeon grains.
Often I sweeten the mixture with BOSS. I buy a bag of BOSS $20 for 50 LBS. Squirrels get that during winter also.

That looks exactly like the all grain scratch I use already...

I flew the babies with the adults for the first time tonight. Neighbours pigeons were also out. Mine flew with his for about 20-30mins! I must admit that I was worried for a while but all ten returned together! I'm thinking of taking boomer, lucky and squeak for a training lob tomorrow. They're good for it.
Awesome!! :highfive:

I tried flying 11 today but #64 decided not to leave the loft, just watched everybody else fly off, turned round and walked back in . The other 10 flew well then the neighbour released his pigeons and they all flew together! I'm not sure if this is a good thing but it is keeping mine in the air longer! They all came back after about 30 mins. I didn't do a lob though as the weather has taken a turn for the worse. Just a question for all, how bad would the weather have to be before you didn't fly your birds? Obviously I'm not gonna fly them in heavy rain or a hurricane! But how bad would you leave it?
