Pigeon Talk

@Qwerty3159
You did mention that there was a possibility of getting some more pigeons from a source of your original pigeons. Maybe try to get a mated pair, and introduce into loft once your squabs are a lil older. (like 10 weeks):idunno
My plan is to build a bigger loft for the summer, buy several new squeakers to boost my numbers, and also get a mated pair. :)

a lot of pairs seem to wait a few weeks longer after raising squabs. I wouldn't give up on them quite yet.
You were right, I went out today and the hen had laid an egg in the box but outside of the nest bowl which they left empty. I helped her out by getting them started on a nest and moved the egg inside and she's been tending to it all morning.

Egg laying takes a large toll on the condition of the hen which results in varying times for the second clutch to appear.
The feeding of "Chicken Egg Laying Pellets" helps in this regard.
They have oyster shell but I had been feeding a small amount of the layer pellets but backed off on them because all the birds begun to heavily favorite them, even the squeakers. Maybe I'll find a way to only offer them to the hen. ;)

@CCUK really sorry to hear that, I'm hoping for you that the better turn of weather helps them back!

These are ridiculous and of course I want them.

This is a pitiful animal with limited quality of life. It can barely see, probably can't fly as a result, and has enormous flight feathers on its feet that make walking difficult. Birds should not be bred to these harmful extremes.

I've just got back home and #67 has returned! No sign of the others though. It's stopped raining, sun's out but a bit blustery.
yay! I'm so blad. I'm sure more are coming.
