Yeah! She is a beauty I've just spoke to the owner, he is from Essex, which is right down south from me and she was released from Thurso near John ogroats. As far north in Scotland as you can go! Apparently it was a bad race alot of missing birds. So I'll do the B&B thing for a couple of days and let her go Thursday or Friday morning.

hmm. So how long of a race was it? Hopefully she returns without trouble. Your yard must be over a favored flight path for birds...

They were released Sunday morning. I'm not sure why it went bad but the weather has been a bit 'British'! I know Scotland has had rain and further south we've been in an oven! I wouldn't have thought it should have affected them that much though.

It was a little over 500 miles. Where I am in UK I'm fairly central so I suspect that I am in the flight path of alot of birds. There is a liberation point at the football club a couple of miles away from me for southern or northern federation races. And I have a flashing sign on my roof that only pigeons can see advertising free meals and a perch for the night!

I don't see a lot of pigeons by me. There are a few ferals that live in the several story parking garage of a nearby casino and a handful that hang around a school across town. All of them are either blue bars or blue checks. Somebody a few blocks away has six white pigeons that fly every so often around a few houses, I have not discerned which one has a loft.
