Owl looks like the Satinettes ,,,, ones that @WVduckchick raises. Maybe Owl. and Pancake are both hens, and that would explain infertility.
Next time they go broody, maybe you can secure some eggs from WV, and slip them under. :idunno I think pigeon eggs could hold up in shipping:old

Definitely possible that they are both hens, but seems unlikely to me! Ever since I've got him he has acted like a cock bird, constantly dancing and cooing. I don't observe my other two (confirmed) hens acting like that at all! He also often fights with waffle. From what I know, hens don't tend to fight with other cocks. When I put all of them together for the first time, owl and pancake paired up instantly. Months before waffle and tiny did. From what I know, same sex couples don't occur in pigeons often unless there is not a member of the opposite sex to pair up with, and two same sex pigeons will only pair up for the sake of lack of companionship. In fact, waffle (confirmed cock) still tried to woo pancake for a few months and she flat out refused and stayed with waffle instead. Seems unlikely she'd prefer to be with another hen instead. Plus, pancake has only ever had two eggs in her nest. She did have three at one point but the extra egg was from the previous clutch. I've heard that there will often be 4 eggs with a same sex couple. If they don't produce eventually, or they both turn out to be hens, I'll have to try giving them an egg a try! They seem really desperate to have a squab.

Also, he does look a bit like a satinette! He looks a lot bulkier and he seems to have a lot more dense feathers around the neck compared to the satinettes. but very similar. He also has brown and black wings instead of black and white, so that's why I tend to say he's an owl breed. I'm not great at identifying breeds though, there are so many!

I finally found the time to take some pictures of my pigeons! (They are Rollers, but I forgot what kind. Also, sorry about the poopy cage!)

This is Mando (the male).

And this is Ami (the female).

As of this morning they have bonded and are no longing fighting. They took their first bath today, side by side in the tub. I love pigeons!:ya

Hello!! I currently have 4 adults and 1 squab. Waffle and tiny are a pair. Waffle is the large pure white pigeon, and tiny is the smaller feral pigeon. I also have pancake and owl. Owl is some breed of owl (very creative name, I know) and I've been told pancake looks like she is a pied valencian figurata she has one tan wing and the rest of her is white! Waffle and tiny recently hatched their first squab a couple days ago. Pancake and owl seem to be infertile as they've had a good amount of clutches and none have developed at all. I would like to breed some short faced babies, so hopefully one day we'll get a fertile egg from them! I'm very happy with my little baby from tiny and waffle though, they are good parents so far!
very cool! Pigeons are awesome! your setup for them is awesome looking. where do you live? Do you have to cover any of it in plastic during the winter?

Birmingham? they are awesome looking! Do you hope to breed them?

Yep! I cover the netting with some tarps and plastic sheeting in the winter. I live in Michigan so it gets pretty cold in the winter. I have a couple soft-heat heating panels as well that they like to cuddle up against. I only turn them on when I get around below zero temperatures. It might sound mean but I don't want them getting too dependent on the heat if the heaters stop working suddenly. I have heated water dishes as well.

Hey guys, how many weeks old do you think a squab should be before I start taking it out of the nest, to hand tame it? And also, how should I go about doing it? Should I stay in the sight of mom and dad and stay in the aviary? Should I pet it or just hold it in my hand for a little bit? I can't believe how big they get so quick! He's already around twice the size of my budgies and he's less than a week old. Crazy!

Warm weathers finally here! I'm going to have some climbing plant grow on that lattice thing to give them some shade and keep the hutch part cooler. Probably morning glories and I'll be vigilant about getting rid of any seeds before they fall into the aviary. They also gave up on the fakes yesterday but I decided that the squabs are simply too cute to avoid the temptation of letting them breed so hopefully she lays again soon

@biophiliac did your hen (I think) with the pulled out tail grow hers back yet? Mine had his fill in a few weeks ago as seen in the picture but I forgot to take a picture earlier
