So I guess that whole thing about birds not being able to pass gas is a myth? I was always afraid mine would drink my pop!
Hey. . only used bird people get it! That's what we are here for.
The one and only time my dad ever told my grandmother off that I know of was over my pet parakeet that passed. It was suffering and my parents didn't know how to put it down or what else to do so my mom took it out and used the pellet rifle
I was 10 I think.
I was telling my grandma crying about it. . she said to me "well that was stupid. Why didn't you just wring its neck?"
Oh my goodness my parents were livid.![]()
I feel so sorry for your bad luck. Hind-sight is always 20/20 as older folks like you and I have had the chance to observe many times.I will pray to hear that some or all make it back anyway.
Thank you for sharing even the hard experiences my friend.
X2 on both of these!I feel so bad for you. We all do things even when we think we shouldn’t. I don’t know you very well yet, but from what I’ve seen, I would wager that you had the best intentions, and felt you did what you should do. I very much appreciate your words of wisdom, and your words of caution. I’m still hopeful for you that they return.![]()
Clyde likes his high roost now

So glad three made it in!I know some made it back. Three for sure.
It is for the most part a clear blue sky here today. It is hard to count once I released the flock this morning. I will not know until tonight when they roost and it is easier to do a head count.
I did have 41 birds at last count.
At worst I am down to 37 I would dare to say.
Hope she's ok..Great news hokum!
So i just went out and fed the birds and when i fed my breeders coop one didnt come down to eat. Its the one in my avater. It is by far my favorite because it will come to sit on me when i call. And it didnt do that when i called. It is unmated but yes its in the breeders coop because i wouldnt want to lose it. So i dont think it is going to lay an egg soon. I also saw it puke up some seeds. I dosed their water with all natural vet rx. Any ideas what else to do?
