I mix in some safflower and maple peas. Since I had some wild bird seed left from a time I ran out of basic mix, I throw some in for Loper the feral who seems to prefer small seeds and doesnt like to eat hes peas.

Thanks bio. Sounds good.

Ccuk, how many birds do you have? Are you still considering getting one on ebay?

Eh!
A loft on ebay. Not birds. Sorry.
Yeah. I keep having a look but there a bit pricey. Most aren't that good quality either. I have loads of shed panels up at the farm that I was going to redo the chicken coop so I may redesignate them!
Here are the pics of my feed.

This is the winter mix. It's mostly mixed peas and wheat.

This the conditioner. It's a good mix of seed. Dari, safflower, linseed, rice, beans, rapeseed and oats. There isn't many peas so I supplement it with extra peas and maize. Im currently mixing 2 scoops of winter mix to 5 scoops of conditioner.

This is the mix. I give 500g once a day between 13 birds.

Both your mixes look good, I see they have safflower already. Looks very much like mine. :)

Hello everyone I have some bad news. One of my rollors stepped on a bar inside their winter cage and the bar broke. When the bar broke it went threw the pigeons leg. As far as I can see the pigeon has no major injury's. Does anyone know if I should do anything special for the pigeon? The bar went threw it's leg.
Oh no! Pics? A bar going through the leg is pretty serious. @Quacking Pigeon had a Highflyer that lost its leg. She may be able to help. And yes, clean the would as cave man rich said.

I have been having problems with on particular hen pigeon. She was lost when I first began training her and has become imprinted on an area about 10 miles south of my loft. I can let her fly at large she is one of my older birds and her off spring are excellent homers.
Problem is any time that I make take her out any distance from the loft for a toss.
You probably guessed it she homes to that area that has become imprinted on her. Yesterday was the 4 time I had to trap her. and she is becoming trap wise.

That is a problem! I wonder how that happens and is this the answer to what happens to some 'lost' birds?
