Good. It's leveled with bricksI built some legs to keep it a little off the ground, and used bricks under some of the legs to bring it level.

@Pyxis What kind of roof are you thinking of?
Sounds good. Will you have to remove snow in winter? Don't forget to allow for good ventilation.I'm just gonna use the same kind that I did on my emu barn. Corrugated roofing. It lasts pretty well, and isn't expensive to replace when it does give out.
That's a good reason!Because most of the time when I'm building, the nearest outlet can be an acre away![]()

I have vents on the bottom, for light also and the roof elevation is open with 1/4" hardware cloth... plus there is a 4"gap under the eaves. Don't laugh, I know my loft is way over-engineered but you get the idea. The roof is gonna be sloped, so hopefully it will just slide off. If not, I can just give it a shove off the short end, lol.
Yep, I'll be taking a hole saw out there and putting a bunch of holes along the tops of the walls![]()
Great start!Well, a thunderstorm is threatening, so progress is halted for now. Still, not bad for a few hours' work:

Just gotta cut the rest of the plywood for the front wall, and cut the side walls to the correct size, then get them up. Then the roof.
If you aren't installing bob traps then I don't think there is any set size. If it will be open all the time perhaps make it smaller. Also each opening takes away interior wall space for perches and nest boxes. That's why I made my vents at floor level which is less favored for nests and perches. I would say the minimum size would be a foot square'How big should the openings out to the aviary be? I have to make sure to make a cut for that in the top part of my front wall.
