Yeah, the only thing I’m worried about right now is infection. I wasn’t able to find amoxicillin at my local tractor supply, but I did put an antibiotic ointment on the wound and used an antibiotic pad. I also believe I have some sort of antibiotic powder which can be applied to the wound. I could order the amoxicillin, but that could take a little while to arrive.
I’m sorry they didn’t have it at your tractor supply. That’s so frustrating. You could order it if your still worried about infection setting in. Meanwhile you could find out if you can give him oregano oil or some other herbal anti microbial option that would be available at Walmart, walgreen or health food store. I’m unfamiliar with pigeons so don’t know what they can take at all but if they can eat things like that it could be better than nothing.
