I have what may seem like a very strange question.

I have had homing pigeons for about six years and have really enjoyed them. Because of feed prices, and the fact that I don't actually race my birds and no one in my family would even think about eating the pigeon eggs but me, I have made the decision to sell my birds and convert my loft into a chicken coop. I have plans to purchase 10 Black Australorp hens and have fresh eggs in the backyard. I sold my pigeons yesterday at an auction, but as we were transferring them to a wire cage so they could be seen, one of them escaped and headed south, 90 miles, to my house and her loft. She was waiting for me on top of our house when we got home. Another showed up this morning, having evidently escaped from the buyer. That will leave me with three pigeons and I wondered about keeping them in the same place as my chickens. Do you think they would be compatible at all?

Yes, that is fine. Just make sure there are plenty of perches, the pigeons have their own nest boxes (if you want to breed them) and there's more than one feeder and waterer to prevent scuffles over food/water.
